LEADER TRAINING

Supporting our exciting youth development program is an adult training and development program known internationally as the Wood Badge Training Scheme.

Training and development of adult volunteers is compulsory to ensure that our Leaders have the necessary skills and knowledge to support and assist our young people and other adults. Keeping training current is important and it is expected that a Leader will complete any updated training or new training as required or needed.

Leader Training, is made up from a combination of online on demand modules, face to face training and networking teamwork (on the job).

The majority of Adult Appointments can be held on completion of the required Leader Training, however some Appointments do need additional specific skills training to be carried out.

There are two streams for the Training of Leaders, one for Youth Program Leaders and the other for Program Support Leaders. Click here for a flow chart of the streams - Adult Training Curriculum

Additional leadership and personal development training may be recognised through an RPL process by the Scouts Australia Institute of Training – NSW Campus, known as SAIT, a Registered Training Organisation that is accredited to issue qualifications that are recognised outside of Scouts Australia.
On completion of your Leader Training, you will receive a Certificate of Proficiency when the correct paperwork is processed and you then can apply for the current Certificate III in Business Management, by enrolling in SAIT, if you hold a current Provide First Aid Qualification.
