State Palaver – 24/25 May 15


State Palaver is a great opportunity to try out and bring home new program ideas and activities, make new friends, catch up with old friends.

It is being held at Katoomba – in a heated conference centre, don’t worry about the cold.

You can arrive Friday night or Saturday morning – activities start pretty early, details to come.

The theme is international – “Castaway Cruises” – come cruising to many cultures for the weekend.

Read the flier, fill out the E1, and send the E1 and payment to South Met Region Office as soon as you can.

Joey Fun Day – 17th May 2015

When – Sunday 17th May 2015

Where – Campbelltown Steam and Machinery museum
86 Menangle Rd, Menangle Park

Everyone to meet at park as plenty of parking available

Information and Registration -


Parents are responsible for their children on the day.

There are rides and machinery moving around giving rides so need to watch out.

Keep kids away behind barriers and ENJOY the Fantastic Day.

Museum will be selling Sausages, drinks and tea coffee ice creams etc.

There are BBQs available to cook own food on.

Starting time is 9.30 am till 3.00pm, we will meet just outside entry gate

  • parents will need to be marked off master sheet and can then enter
  • if not on master sheet they will have to pay museum entry prices and also for a badge if available on day.

Cost –

  • $8.00 for Joeys with Badge
  • $6.00 for Leaders with badge
  • Parents, siblings, other youth is $5.00 each
  • Note – maximum family price is 2 parents with 2 joeys or 1 joey and two siblings. Their own children – not other family’s children with them.

Region Office will only accept group booking sheet with one payment – no individual family payments.

Please make sure that all joeys are registered with Region Office before event.

Closing date – Friday 8th May.

Absolutely no late applications accepted.

  • Anyone who has not paid Region by this date and wants to come, can pay at gate for museum entry fees and can pay for a badge if available.

APPLICATION FORM Information Sheet – Region Camp 2015

2015 E1 Region Camp

Note different travel arrangements this year -

  • scouts/parents will not be admitted to the camp road on Friday 5th June.
  • Scouts are to be dropped off/catch a train to Waterfall Railway Station. They can either walk in to the camp along the usual walking trail into camp, or there will be a shuttle bus running.
  • Only troop leaders with substantial troop gear will be admitted to the camp road – not a car with scout personal gear.
  • Details will be sent to troops booked into the camp.
  • Parking over the weekend – see notes in the Information sheet regarding parking, there will be no parking at the bottom carpark or along the camp road.

Note closing date – Tuesday 26th May

  • Troops not booked into camp by that date will not be coming to camp.
  • Individuals  not booked in by that date will not be coming to camp, whether the troop is booked in or not.
  • Registration form and payment by Group Cheque to be received at Region Office by the closing date.

Cub Day Out – 3rd May 2015


Theme                  “SHOW TIME”

When                   Sunday 3rd May, 2015  9.30am to 3.00pm

Where                  Heathcote Scout Camp – Freeman Road, Heathcote

Who                     Registered cubs, new chums, leaders, parent helpers as required

How Much          Cubs $12, Leaders/Youth helpers/Parent helpers $5



Rough running schedule on the day -

9.30am                Register

9.50am                Parade

10am to 12pm    Activities, have morning tea when it suits your pack

12pm to 1pm      Lunch – at the large campfire

1pm to 3pm        Activities, have afternoon tea when it suits your pack


Activities will be entertainment themed, there should be something to suit everyone!

  • You have to fill in details such as where to meet, times, cost, emergency contacts etc
  • We suggest you consider catching the train, parking might get a bit tight at the camp, and the roads congested.
  • If parents are driving, some of you might consider using Heathcote Station carpark, as an easier option to be dropped off/picked up. There is an overhead bridge to cross the highway, and pedestrian crossing halfway down Oliver Street.


Due to the tight time frame of getting notes out (my fault, I know)

The closing date has been changed to WEDNESDAY 29th April.

If you meeting is on a Wednesday night, please email me once you get home and know your numbers.


For each pack – please let me know whether or not you intend to come, so I will not be chasing you for a response.

If possible, approximate numbers would be helpful.
